    from what i read The Battalion was from  provinces of Alberta and British Columbia and  mobilization in Vancouver, British Columbia in  July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed December 20, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel W.M. Sage with of 25 officers and 662 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the Canadian Railway Troops.
