Dedicated to one of the largest stone and earthen fortresses in the world, which has survived to this day - a complex of unique fortifications, which was formed over many centuries. Today, the National Historical and Architectural Museum "Kyiv Fortress" is a unique museum complex, many buildings of which are associated with the history of social liberation movements in Ukraine.
On the obverse of the coin are placed: at the top on the background of a stylized composition dedicated to the Kiev fortress (fragment of the arched entrance), - a small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which - the inscription УКРАЇНА; below on a mirror background - a key under which inscriptions - 10 / ГРИВЕНЬ / 2021; logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (to the right of the key).
The reverse of the coin depicts the composition: Kyiv Fortress (view from a bird's eye view), to the right of which is a diagram of the fortress fortifications; below the inscriptions: КИЇВСЬКА (on a mirror background), ФОРТЕЦЯ/XVIII–XIX ст. (against the outline of the teeth of the fortress).
