Dedicated to honoring the heroic feat of the Ukrainian people in World War II, the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazi occupiers in the fall of 1944, the memory and reconciliation of the soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine.
On the obverse of the coin are: the small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the right of which are vertical inscriptions: UKRAINE and the coin mint year 2019; on a mirror background, a composition symbolizing the struggle for the liberation of the Motherland - stylized images: the plane (above), the outlines of the soldiers-defenders, small arms, a tank; at the bottom against the background of the hills - UAH 5; Banknote and Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine (left on the mirror background).
On the reverse of the coin are placed: on the right - stylized red poppy petals of memory (based on the memory symbol of the victims of the war by author S. Mishakin), in the center of which are inscriptions 1944 - / 2019; on the left on a relief background is a profile of a man (mirror) holding a child with a laurel branch.
