Dedicated to the centenary of one of the largest museums in Ukraine, the cultural center of Slobozhanshchyna and Eastern Ukraine. Every year the institution receives more than 200 thousand visitors and for centuries has maintained its outstanding importance of the research, scientific, methodological and cultural-educational center of Kharkiv region. Near the origins of the Museum of Sloboda Ukraine was Mykola Sumtsov - a prominent scientist, ethnographer, historian, researcher of folk life and outlook, who became the first director of the museum.
