    Dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Volodymyr Mykolayovych Peretz - a prominent Ukrainian scientist, philologist, researcher and publisher of numerous monuments of ancient Ukrainian literature, historian and theoretician of literature, textologist, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Volodymyr Peretz is one of the most active figures who contributed to the formation of the national community of Ukrainian scientists, the formation of its first professional associations and Ukrainian studies in a broad sense. Author of more than 300 works on literary studies, source studies, historiography, archeology, bibliography. He was the first to make a detailed description of numerous collections of ancient manuscripts, lists of ancient prints, and so on.
    On the obverse of the coin there are: at the top - a small State Emblem of Ukraine and an inscription in a semicircle NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, on the left denomination - 2 / Hryvnia, under which the inscriptions: PHILOLOGY / LITERATURE / HISTORY (main areas of activity of the scientist; in the center - a stylized composition that symbolizes the professional activities of Academician W. Peretz: books and pen (against the background of an open book); year of coinage 2020 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (bottom left).
    The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Vladimir Peretz, to the left of which on a mirror background is a broken relief composition, symbolizing the unfinished work of a scientist who was repressed and died in exile; on the background of the composition there are inscriptions: VOLODYMYR / PERETTS and the years of his life 1870/1935 are indicated.
