Ukrainian Ground Forces
This coin celebrates the forces that form the basis of the combat power of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. In view of their purpose and scope of tasks, these forces play a crucial role in the Armed Forces’ performance of their functions, both in peacetime and in wartime. The ground forces are comprised of mechanized, tank and missile troops, artillery, the army air force, air defense units, special forces, logistics units, and territorial defense brigades.
Between January 2018 and July 2022 coins of the series of 10 Hryven denomination were non-circulating coins (they were selling with price denomination + at least 10% in banks or for the short period of time by denomination in NBU web store). At the end of July 2022 (at the fifth month of war with Russia) NBU made a decision to make these coins circulating commemorative starting from August 1, 2022 and put into circulation his reserve of approximately 5-6 millions of coins and stop distributing them via banks.
