1st National Wildlife Federation Stamps 1938 full 100 sheets
1st National WILDLIFE FEDERATION Stamps. 1938 Full 100 Sheet This is a complete full sheet of 100 of the first General (changed to National later that year) Wildlife Federation wildlife conservation stamps from the very first series issued in 1938. With 16 different designs of animals or birds in need of protection, labeled "Help Restore Our Wildlife", + a single copy of a vertical design near right center for "National Wildlife Restoration Week". This series was designed by the first NWF President, Jay "Ding" Darling who also conceived of the idea for the first Federal Duck Stamp. His design of the two Mallard ducks landing here is the same as the first Federal Duck Stamp issued in 1934. Stamp designs are about 52 x 30 mm, and the entire sheet unfolded is about 21 x 17".
